Join us in raising service dogs and changing lives—one paw at a time!
Collar Scholars at the University of Arkansas is a registered student organization dedicated to raising and preparing future service dogs in partnership with Canine Companions, a nonprofit leader in service dog training. Our mission is to give students an opportunity to become puppy raisers, puppy sitters and general members. It also allows students to earn community service and to help educate the college community on service dogs and proper etiquette around them. Our club provides students the unique opportunity to be directly involved in the early development of these incredible dogs. Members can serve as Puppy Raisers, who nurture and teach foundational skills to the puppies before they advance to professional training; Puppy Sitters, who support Raisers by caring for the dogs when needed; or General Members, who participate in events, learn about service dog training, and contribute to our mission. Together, we aim to create a positive impact on the lives of individuals who rely on service dogs for independence and companionship.
